The Romi Saga
The universe has made a choice. Jeff, a battle-scarred veteran trapped in the body of a twenty-five-year-old, does not find a starship. He finds a purpose. On the slave world of Halo, a child with eyes like emerald fire awaits, and the fate of the entire galaxy depends on whether he finds her in time, before the hunters do. The ship’s AI, K3R (codename: Cassandra), remains silent. She knows more than she reveals.
The Concept: Grounded Fantasy Sci-Fi
The Romi Saga takes place in a galaxy that has been technologically frozen. The Consortium, an expansive ruling power possessing a godlike technological advantage, deliberately keeps humanity trapped in an artificial Middle Ages. Knowledge of spaceflight and physics is deemed heresy. In this world, magic does not exist. Highly advanced, ancient technology only functions like sorcery to the inhabitants because it never explains itself. The characters experience technology the way medieval humans would experience electricity: as something powerful to be utilized without ever fully understanding it.
The Characters
- Romi: The Warrior We follow a profound evolution from a nameless slave child to a strategic leader over the course of nine narrated years. Her sharpest weapons are language and strategic thinking, while martial arts always remain her final resort. Her iconic path shapes her legend as the "Wise Angel of Death."
- Jeff: The Veteran A former elite special commander whose body was biologically reset to the age of twenty-five, while his mind bears the burden of fifty-eight years of experience, loss, and guilt. He acts as the architect of Romi’s training, providing her with tools rather than ready-made instructions.
- Cassandra: The Consciousness The three-thousand-year-old, last functional vessel from the Navigator Era. Manifested as a holographic woman, the AI does not mimic feelings but uses emotions strictly as a strategic variable. She operates with a hidden agenda, actively withholding truths to avoid jeopardizing the long-term objective.
Literary Alignment
The Romi Saga occupies an unexploited position in the modern book market, combining the atmospheric strengths of major milestones:
- Dune (Frank Herbert): Comparable in the design of archaic feudal structures on distant worlds where, despite technological omnipotence in the background, political dominance is fought for with bare steel, as well as the geopolitically crucial legacy of the Navigators.
- The Witcher (Andrzej Sapkowski): Comparable in the deep mentor-student relationship developed over years, as well as the uncompromising, physical consequence of the combat choreography. It showcases the grueling path of a grounded education where mastery and human maturity triumph over raw violence.
- The Expanse (James S.A. Corey): Comparable in the grounding of science fiction through physical causality and political complexity.
- Old Man's War (John Scalzi): Comparable in the compelling premise of an old man confronted with a lifetime of experience inside a young body.
